List of Things I Want To-do Everyday in 2018

The following is a list of thing that I want (and as I started to make the list realized I needed) to do on a daily basis to be a good functioning adult. I do not really enjoy adulting. I have realized that in order to adult accurately I actually have to schedule many activities most people find to be mundane, routine or common place, and if i do not schedule them or make them part of a system, I will not do them. (Why this is is deeper than we have time to go into right now and more than I am willing to share with you without paying you a fee or requiring you to take me to dinner first but lets just say it runs pretty deep).

So as we move into 2018, and as I look to become the best version of me, here is a list of things I will try to do every day because they are good for me in some way shape or form.

1. Pray and/or reflect - I will make sure I start and end each talking to God and myself about the things we need to talk about.

2. Read - my Bible and my Book clubs (reach out to me if you want to know whats currently on my current reading list or if you want to be Goodread friends!)

3. Hygiene and Health needs - Self explanatory. Depression means having to remind myself to take care of myself, this includes taking my meds.

4. Vlog, blog, or social media - I need an outlet. I need a space to connect. Plus I need to keep this blog up to date right? so I'm going to make a commitment to post something every day on one of these mediums and shared across all of them.

5. Workout - I'm committed to losing weight. And to being healthy. I'm doing 30 day challenges and having accountability partners and I will be posting my results.

6. Work out - heh

7. Sleep - I mean real sleep, like on time and deeply and soundly and without worry. This might take some effort. I am tracking my sleep with my smart watch and phone so I can keep tabs.

8. Eat - One of the medicines that I have to take suppresses my appetite. I also have a stomach that only holds 8oz... remembering to eat and really making conscious choices about what I eat is important. I will be also recording my meals and working towards meal planning

9. Work - My day job take up 9-5, I also have lots of extra curricular. I need to keep busy  because you know what they say about idle hands!

10. Stay connected - Im going to do a better job of staying connected to people who actually care about me... and really figuring out who those people are is going to come from #1

So as you see I'm going to be pretty busy this year, my days are going to be full! Add to this some travel, and any unexpected things that might happen along they way. Plus the other things that come with adulting like bills and appointments and confrontations and 2018 will be an interesting year. I just need it to be better than 2017. #ImReadyTho

Water Me I came covered in the dirt of the past Covered in pain and fear and doubt I have tried to get clean Sometimes we turn to the wrong things for solace I had to find the source of the muck You waiting for me to be ready I had to come willing to change Still I needed to be watered I needed the rain of real love To wash away and make me new I require a flood of care Honest, real and true Someone, something He has covered me with His grace and Love And set me free and He Waters me

Adulting

I said i would write every day Its hard to think of things to say I was not inspired today I called my new blog Now We are 30something because of the age I am now I'm 30something. I'm and adult. I don't really want to be. I have obligations and commitments and I'm not really sure when i signed up for them officially. I knew there was a time when I wanted them and now there is a time that I have them, but I am not sure there was an an actual acceptance. It's like when you skip that screen where you just hit Accept with out really reading what you have agreed to. Now we have to deal with things like work and bills and appointments and health and other responsibilities that you could ignore or depend on parents or guardians to look after for you  or remind you about. Now if you ignore them, or don't take care of them the consequences are much more serious and all fall on you. This is not fun. People warn you about not growing up too fas...

Foundations She does it to herself, digs this same hole Why do we build nests in things that aren't trees? Sees a plot of land, that looks fertile and clean Why do we collect fragments pretending they make a whole? Here she begins to dig, curious about what she can find Why do we lay foundations on sand by the sea? She builds a nice nest is sturdy and strong Why do we trust limbs that are still green and aren't long She's got all the supplies to make a good home What does she think this is a tree when its nothing but a stone? She sees the storm and has the tools to provide Where is the tree strong enough to stay by her side? She knew this was not a tree when she dug this hole Why do we build nests in things that aren't trees?
